An emphatic all-round performance by Pesandu Sanjan helped St. Thomas’ College, Matara to beat Sri Devananda College by one wicket in their under-19 traditional two-day cricket encounter played in Ambalangoda.
Batting first Sri Devananda were shot out for 134 with Sanjan capturing seven wickets for 35 runs.
In reply St. Thomas’ scored 227 for eight wickets with 16-year-old Sanjan top scoring with 80.
In their second innings Sri Devananda scored 237 with Kaveesha Kalpana top scoring with 100.
The Thomians were set a target of 140 and got home with one wicket to spare as Pesandu Sanjan top scored with 40 runs.
