Oram presents awards to dental doctors and students

Oram (Pvt) Ltd, an endodontic device market player and diagnostic kit and pharmaceutical supplier to the Ministry of Health, awarded the country’s outstanding dental doctors at the Endostar Asian Endodontic International Conference 2022-Colombo at Taj Samudra, Colombo, recognising their contributions to the dental industry at the conference’s Dental Awards 2022 ceremony last week.

Oram organised the conference in Colombo with Endostar, an endodontic product supplier and manufacturer from Poland, on the international market for modern endodontic instruments and materials.

It held the Asian Endodontic International Conference 2022 on November 26 and 27. The event marked the graduation of dentists who had completed Oram’s endodontic programs conducted in line with the Endostar Asian Endodontic Conference 2022.

Regional Director of Health Services, Colombo, Dr. Chandana Gajanayake, was the chief guest and President, College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of Sri Lanka, Dr. Buddhika Dasanayaka was the guest of honour.

Endostar Poland’s Export Manager Alexandra Eva Wilk, Polish lecturer, Warsaw Medical University, Ktarzyana Brus-sawczuk, Prof. Vinod Kumar from India, and Oram’s CEO, Global, Mushtaq Jabir were also present.

Oram awarded students who completed the Basic and intermediate “Implant Training course” and the dental practitioners who participated in the Advance Course in Implantology and Bi Cortical Implant Course. Thirty students participated in the Certificate courses.

Two hundred doctors and students participated in the programs. Foreign oral implantologists, endodontists, clinical experts, and surgeons conducted the workshops and the training.

The company presented felicitation awards to veterans in the field. Among them, Consultant in Restorative Dentistry Dr. Sirimevan Samarakoon, Dr. Asela Wijesundara, Dr. Thuthikaran, Dr. Imran Muhuseen, Dr. Amal Ranasingha and Dr. Nalaka Samankula.

The Dental Awards is a first by Oram in Sri Lanka, and the inaugural event was held in 2018. The 2022 dental awards was held after a two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The awards ceremony was themed ‘Going Global’.

The Dental Awards -2022 presented awards under the categories Best Government Dental Practice (Provincial), Best Practice, Best Patient Care, Best Team Member, Best Team, Best Young Dentist, Best Practice Brand; Design, Best High Technology Practice, Best New Practice, Most Improved Practice, Best Website, Best General Dental Practice, Solo Practice/Partner Ships, Best Group Practice/With Specialist in Oder Discipline. A panel of judges with vast experience in the dental medicine field selected the winners.

Oram Director Mudassir Jabir said, “Today we have recognised and honoured exceptional persons from the dental profession in private and Government sectors in Sri Lanka. This is the most significant stage that recognises and rewards dental doctors in Sri Lanka.”

Dr. Chandana Gajanayake said, “New technology and innovations are driving the dental industry forward at the international level. Oram Company is at the forefront of introducing such technology and innovations to Sri Lanka. They bring the highest international standards and innovations in dentistry to Sri Lanka and impart that knowledge to Dentists and other professionals in the field.”

Oram Group Chairman Jabir Sally also spoke.
