Policy and industry leaders at Economic Summit 2022

The Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2022 - ‘Resetting from Turmoil to Opportunity’ will commence tomorrow, December 5 at the Shangri-La Hotel.

The keynote speaker will be Parameswaran Iyer, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog, which serves as the apex public policy think tank of the Government of India.

Iyer plays a significant role in catalysing India’s economic development, spearheading the nationwide Swachh Bharat (Clean India) Mission, and also serving as the Global Lead for Strategic Initiatives in the World Bank’s Water Global Practice.

The Summit will feature over 30 local and international speakers in the arenas of monetary and fiscal policy, economic reforms, technology, investment, and private sector-led growth, who will cover key reform priorities.

International speakers at the Summit include former Finance Minister of Georgia, Aleksi Alexsishvili, Country Manager for the International Finance Corporation in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Alejandro Alvarez de la Campa, Associate Professor of Finance, Finance Department, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Prof. Nihat Bülent Gültekin, Senior Advisor, Equity Financing and Funds, Sustainable Finance Hub, UNDP, Artak Melkonyan and Senior Climate Business Specialist and Climate Anchor, South Asia, for the International Finance Corporation, Rajesh Miglani.

Key local speakers include Governor, Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Secretary to the Treasury, Ministry of Finance, Mahinda Siriwardana, Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Ms. Yvette Fernando, GI, BOI, Ms. Renuka M.
