Schools swimming back after two years

4 December, 2022

The Sri Lanka Schools Swimming Association will conduct the 47th schools swimming and diving championships after a two year period at the Sugathadasa Swimming Pool from December 7 to 11.

The interest in this sport has grown significantly despite not having the event for the past two years and more than 5000 swimmers are expected to participate.

Lyceum International School Wattala won the mixed schools championship while the girls’ event was won by Visakha Vidyalaya and St. Joseph’s College won the boys event when the meet was held last in 2019.

This event will be sponsored once again by Milo.

Events for juniors will be in the age categories of under-10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 for boys and girls. They will be involved in 140 individual events while there will be 24 relay events.
