People’s Leasing wins ESQR award for ‘Best Practices 2022’

People’s Leasing and Finance PLC (PLC) received another international accolade from the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) in Brussels, Belgium in their annual recognition program; European Award for Best Practices 2022 for selected companies, public administrations and organisations representing different sectors from Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and Australia.

People’s Leasing and Finance PLC was Sri Lanka’s sole recipient of this award. Among the many international companies that have received this award previously, are the BMW Group (Germany), Konica Minolta (Japan), State Bank of India (India), Cathay Pacific Airways (Hong Kong – China), Air Canada (Canada), and United Airlines (USA).

PLC Chairman Pradeep Amirthanayagam said, “This award is a testament to the sound ethical practices that are in place and the entity’s commitment to strive for excellence”.

PLC Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Shamindra Marcelline said, “This recognition reflects the sound quality management and governance framework of PLC. We are extremely proud of this achievement. Governance is not only important today, it is key for the future! PLC will continue to lead the way as Sri Lanka’s model public-private partnership / state-owned enterprisecombine.”

The award-winning companies, organisations and public administrations are selected by ESQR based on the results of the ESQR’s polls, consumer opinion research and market study. The voters could be customers, consumers, former ESQR award-winning companies and organisations, suppliers, collaborating companies or well-wishers. The selection process includes the research of public information sources, publications and positive remarks, charity projects, chambers and university projects, trade fairs and exhibitions.

The ESQR, a European organisation dedicated to the recognition and research of quality improvement techniques, with its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, monitors best practices and outcomes in quality management strategies of organizations, businesses, governments, and individuals. ESQR honours excellence promotes innovation and visionary thinking, disseminates knowledgeand shares conformed assessment practices and facilities.
