Managing Directress, Brilliant Cuts (Pvt) Ltd, Vindya Perera, won the Young Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award at the ‘WCIC Prathibhabhisheka – The Women Entrepreneur Awards 2022’ organised by the Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WCIC) recently.
The event was held under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe and First Lady Prof. Maithree Wickremesinghe in Colombo.
A certified gemmologist of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority Sri Lanka, she has emerged in recent times as a force to reckon with in the industry and attempts to be a role model to inspire aspiring female entrepreneurs. She has won a number of local and international awards for her tireless and innovative work, a spokesman said.
“As a successful female entrepreneur, I want to inspire other women to venture into business. I want young women to rise to the top in their fields. Winning the award for Young Woman Entrepreneur of the Year is very special for me,” she said.
