A Rock Band concert - ‘Rhythm of Harmony’ organised by the High Commission of India in Colombo was held recently to commemorate the 74th Republic Day of India which fell on January 26.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe was the Chief Guest. A renowned Rock band from India - UDX led by Inakhu Atoshe Ayeh, collaborated with a Sri Lankan band, Stigmata led by Suresh De Silva for the event. Several Sri Lankan Ministers, Members of Parliament, members of the diplomatic corps, Indian diaspora and other dignitaries were present.

UDX, a seven-member band, which performed in Sri Lanka for the first time, hails from the North-Eastern part of India, Nagaland, known for its musical talent.

With the 75th Independence Day of Sri Lanka being commemorated on February 4, performance by artistes from UDX and Stigmata together was a fitting tribute to the joint celebrations of the national days of India and Sri Lanka. The event reflected the close links between the two countries in the field of art and culture.

UDX will travel around the Island and give performances at Jaffna, Kandy and Hambantota.
