Stage set for Trinity-Antonian match
The most looked forward to cricket big match in Kandy is the 104th battle between Trinity College and St. Anthony’s College and this match is expected to take place on March 24 and 25 at Katugastota. This will be followed by the 41st one day match on April 1 at Asgiriya. This match is known as the Battle of the Blues which is the sixth oldest traditional match in the country.

Sylvestrain Sports Committee

Old Sylvestrains Sports Club elected U.S.K. Kodithuwakku as their president at their election of office bearers.

J.G. Thilakasiri was elected as a senior president and the senior vice presidents are Mahinda Munasinghe, R. Maheswaran, S.N.M. Abeyarathne, Dr. Majeed Waffan, A.S. Dange, U.B. Ekanayake, Nihal Nanayakara, M.H. Marikar, Upul Basnayake, Sameera Ratnayake and G.L.K. Chamikara.

The Secretary is G.G. Hewamathis; Joint Assistant Secretaries are Jagath Kumara and S.M.R.S. Samarakoon. The assistant secretaries are K.A.P.P. Kodithuwaku, Y.M.S.B. Yapa, R. Thalwatta, A. Rathnyake and V. Wimalasena. The treasurer is Nimal Hope and his assistant is Aruna Jayaweera.

Trinity elect athletics captain 

Trinity College has named their captain and vice captains in athletics for the year 2023. The captain is Umar Manzil who has been in athletics since 2014.
The vice captains are Sawan Aluvihare and Thidas Bandaranaike. 

Central Boarding House champions

Central Boarding House emerged champions in the inter-house athletic meet of Trinity College.
The rest of the positions were won by Lamuel House, Simitharachchy House, Oorloff House and Garrette House.

The event was held under the distinguished patronage of one of the finest sportsmen of the school Duminda de Silva who is a Ryde Gold Medallist. He was also a top class rugby and basketball player.

Chang and Dullewa to the fore 

Two Kandy school products S.W. Chang an old boy of Trinity College has been appointed as the Chairman of Women’s High Performance by Sri Lanka Rugby.
The other is Shane Dullewa who is a product of both Trinity and St. Sylvester’s College. He has been appointed as a non-voting member of the Sri Lanka Rugby Executive Committee.
