The Colombo district has the highest number of leprosy cases in Sri Lanka and the highest number of leprosy cases in the Colombo district is reported from the Colombo Municipal Council area, Egoda Uyana and Moratuwa Medical Officer Divisions.
Anuradhapura and Kurunegala have also been identified as high-risk leprosy zones in terms of transmission, Director of Health Services, Colombo District, specialist Dr. Chandana Gajanayaka told the Sunday Observer.
