Former Editor of Lakbima newspaper Sampath Deshapriya has been appointed as the Media Secretary to the Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, PC. Deshapriya, who has worked in the field of journalism for over 30 years, has held various positions in the field and has played a special role as a political commentator and political columnist. He entered the media industry through Yukthiya  newspaper and also worked as the Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Lakbima and  Sunday Lakbima newspapers.


Four students of Kl/Horethuduwa Muslim School achieved the cut-off marks in the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination results for 2022 and brought pride to the school on its Golden Jubilee. The school has been ranked first on proportional basis in recent times by scoring 20 percent above the cut off marks, 90 percent above 70 marks and 76 percent above 100 marks. Principal S.H. Muthalif, teachers, non-academic staff and school development association members congratulated the students who achieved the best results. The best achievers for the year 2022 are M.R. Amri Ahmed (164), M.R.M. Ridhaf (161), M.S.F. Hasna (153) and M.M.A.F. Haajara (152)
