The Colombo Grand Mosque yesterday announced that a New Moon for the month of Shawwal was sighted yesterday (April 21) and the “Eid-Ul-Fitr” Ramazan Festival will be celebrated today (Saturday).
The decision was taken at a meeting attended by President of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (the Supreme Council of Muslim Theologians of Sri Lanka) Ash Sheik M. I. M. Rizvi Mufthi, Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Director Faizal Abdeen and Colombo Grand Mosque President Thaufiq Zubyr after Maghrib prayers at the Colombo Grand Mosque.
