Ananda College and Bishop’s College emerged under-15 boys and girls champions respectively in the all island inter-schools tennis tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Tennis Association played at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts recently.
Ananda beat Richmond College 5/0, Royal College 4/1, Colombo International School 5/0 and St. Peter’s College 5/0 in the round robin stage.
Ananda then beat Maliyadeva College 3/0 in the semi-final and beat Royal 3/0 in the final to emerge champions.
Results in the final:
First singles: Kaveen Munaweera beat Dehan Vaas 6/1, 6/1.
Second singles: Methika Wickremasinghe beat Sashen Premathilake 6/4, 6/1.
In the doubles: Minhas Muthuthantri and Susith Gallage (Ananda) beat Remika Hewavitharana and Nevindu Perera (Royal) 6/0, 6/2.
In the event for girls Bishop’s College beat Museaus College 3/2 and Maliyadeve Balika 3/2 in the round robin stage.
Bishop’s College then beat Ladies College 3/0 in the semi-final and beat Maliyadeva Balika 3/1 in the final.

First singles; Venuli Jayasinghe (Maliyadeva) beat Yuhansa Peiris (Bishop’s) 6/3, 6/4.
First doubles: Sarah Perera and Siyara Devappriya (Bishop’s) beat Bovindee Jithsara Imihamy and Oluni Munasinghe (Maliyadeva) 6/2, 6/1.
Second singles: Diyansa de Silva (Bishop’s) beat Nisali Dissanayake (Maliyadeva) 6/4, 6/1. (TBR)
