Warning for foreign job applicants

The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau requests that if you know information about people or organizations that charge money for providing foreign jobs without valid approval, please inform the hotline number 1989.

Meanwhile, the owner of the Peradeniya Upcountry Manpower Company, who collected applications and conducted interviews by claiming that they would provide jobs in South Korea without a valid employment permit approved by the bureau, has been arrested recently (10 June) by the officers of the Special Investigation Division of the Bureau.

The relevant location was raided based on information received by the officers of the Special Investigation Division of the Foreign Employment Bureau that interviews were being held for recruitment for jobs in South Korea at Peradeniya, Gatambe, Dangolla Road, Sri Amarawansa Mawatha.

At the time of the raid, a large number of people had come to the place for interviews to get South Korean jobs, and the main suspect who led this racket was arrested.

There are several such illicit foreign employment salesman in the country most of whom have frauded the general public for money. Therefore, the public is advised to not to access services of foreign employment agents who are not registered with the bureau.
