It is reported that President Ranil Wickremesinghe has recommended to the Constitutional Council a name of Professor from the Peradeniya University’s Faculty of Engineering for the position of Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL).
Reports further state that this will be taken up in the Constitutional Council meeting slated to be held today (20) under the leadership of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
The position of Chairman of PUCSL became vacant after the Parliament passed a resolution on May 24 to remove the former Chairman Janaka Ratnayake.
