Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa’s participation in both dinners hosted by Prof. G.L. Peiris for several Opposition parliamentarians was discussed in the political arena.
The dinners were held at the private residence of Prof. Peiris, where some tough decisions about the future activities of the Opposition were discussed.
Apart from the Opposition Leader, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara and Lakshman Fonseka also participated in it, which caused a stir in the political arena.
A group of MPs including Dullas Alahapperuma, Nalaka Godahewa, Wasantha Yapa Bandara and Lalith Ellawala participated in the dinner on behalf of the Prof. G.L. Peiris group. Ranjith Madduma Bandara participated in one of those two dinners, and businessman Lakshman Fonseka, a friend of the Opposition Leader, attended both dinners.
Since President Ranil Wickremesinghe is dealing with a group of MPs of the SJB, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has suggested that the Dullas Alahapperuma’s group should join the SJB soon. He said that it will be able to stop these dealings if the Opposition becomes strong.
