A sportsman worth listening to in and out

Bhanuka Wijesundara is a water polo player who played as a right wing while he represented his alma mater Nalanda College.

He then went on to represent the Sri Lanka water polo team and at present he is turning out for the Starfish Aquatic Academy water polo team as an exceptional right winger.

“I have seen many athletes giving up on their sporting careers; just because there is no support from the sports authorities” said Bhanuka Wijesundara in an interview with the Sunday Observer.

Q: Describe yourself in one word?
Positive

Q. What made you choose sports?
I don’t think I ever choose sports; it just grew up in me, especially with my parents’ influence

Q: Any words or phrases you overuse?

Q: If you could edit your past, what would you change?
Might sound like bragging but I wouldn’t change a thing

I would like to believe so

I would actually change the ending of the TV show “Game of Thrones”. Only if the directors allow me to

The very limited time we have in life

Artificial Intelligence

Q: What forms of music do you listen to?
Going to be a long one but mostly alternative rock, soft rock, rock, country, indie, soul, jazz, pop and love a bit of Sri Lankan classics

Q. Thus far what was your most unforgettable sporting incident?
Scored a last second equalizing goal against the Philippines in 2012

At Nalanda College I was honoured to become the most outstanding sportsman of the year 2012

Seeing many athletes giving up on their sporting careers just because there is no support from the sports authorities
