The UNP working committee approved the decision taken by the management committee to hold the United National Party Convention on October 21 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo yesterday (8).
The working committee meeting was held at Sirikotha Party Headquarters under the patronage of UNP Leader President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Previously, it had been decided to hold the Party convention at the SLECC opposite the Lake House on September 10, but it was postponed due to the inclement weather.
Speaking to the media, after the working committee meeting, Party General Secretary Palitha Rangebandara said that the Party Convention will be held at 2 pm on October 21.
He also said that a discussion regarding the future organization work of the party will be held on September 12 with all electorate organizers. Rangebandara who said that authorized representatives and managers will be summoned as well, 14,000 representatives grass roots Local Government institution divisions have also been
asked to attend to discuss future activities, said further that before December 31, the operation to make a success of organization work of the 4917 first local government member divisions will commence.
