The DSI Super Sports Schools Volleyball finals were worked off last Saturday and Sunday at the Sugathadasa stadium and in the girls final Vijayaba National School, Hungama outplayed Uhana Tissa Vidyalaya by three sets to two (3-2) 25-22, 18-25, 25-22, 26-24, 15-10 to carry away the major event for under-17 players.
The under-19 boys title was won by Davisamara MV Seeduwa when they beat Rajasinghe MV (3-0) in straight sets 25-22, 25-20 25-21.
Davisamara won the first set with a very small margin and had to fight hard as their opponents too played at their best to come to equal terms. But Davisamara won the set at 25-20.
In the third set Rajasinghe MV got off to a flying start and held their opponents from scoring as they did in the earlier two sets and had to go down in favour of Davisamara.
