The 78th United Nations Day Celebrations organised by the United Nations Association (UNA) of Sri Lanka will be held at the Sri Lanka Medical Association Auditorium, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 7 at 3.00 p.m today, under the patronage of President of the UNA, M.M. Zavahir.
Former Ambassador of Kuwait and Past President of the UNA, S.A.C.M. Zuhyle will be the chief guest and former Ambassador and Permanent Representative to UN in Vienna, Dr. Dayantha Laksiri Mendis will be the guest of honour.
Parliamentarians, diplomatic corps, teachers and students of the UN Study Circle and UNA members are expected to be present, UNA Executive Chairman Dr. M.M.M. Rushanudeen said.
