Sri Lanka Cricket which has officially stated it is a private organisation has passed the ball on to the Sports Ministry to tell them who should be picked to head the contentious committee to select players to form the team for international matches
Better known as the Selection Committee, the names sent for Ministry picking are Upul Tharanga, Upul Chandana, Tharanga Paranavithana, Pramodya Wickremasinghe, Romesh Kaluwitharana, Hemantha Devapriya, Dilruwan Perera, Ajantha Mendis, Vonodhan John, Indika de Saram and Fervez Maharoof.
Some of the names sent belong to players who have not announced their retirement and could be hoping to be selected as players themselves.
