New Zealand snatched a spectacular four-wicket win over Bangladesh to level the two-match Test series 1-1 virtually coming from behind at Mirpur yesterday.
New Zealand’s spin duo of Ajaz Patel with six wickets and Mitchell Santner with three scalps played a major part in the dismantling of Bangladesh for 144 runs in the second innings that left the Kiwis with a target of 135.
New Zealand in pursuit of the target were at one time struggling at 69 for 6 before Santner (35 not out) and Glenn Phillips (40 not out) staved off a Bangladesh fight-back to finish off the match with an unbroken stand of 70 runs.
Bangladesh went into the match pumped up for a historic series win after winning the first Test/
