Union Assurance continues its unwavering commitment to enriching community well-being through its HOPE initiative, dedicated to addressing critical challenges faced by the nation. Recognising the urgent need to ensure access to clean drinking water and hygienic menstrual products, Union Assurance has partnered with the ‘KatuKambi Foundation,’ a non-profit organisation, to provide clean drinking water and tackle the issue of period poverty among schoolchildren.

The program was inaugurated at Aluthwewa Maha Vidyalaya, Polonnaruwa, by installing and handing over a state-of-the-art water filtering system to the school. The Company also successfully renovated and handed over water treatment plants at five other schools in Polonnaruwa, including Lakshauyana Vidyala, Hingurakdamana Maha Vidyalaya, Shanthi Maha Vidyalaya, Kirimetiya Maha Vidyalaya and Vijayaraja Maha Vidyalaya.

Union Assurance distributed sanitary napkins that can be utilised for 6 months, complemented by gift packs containing school bags and t-shirts. These combined efforts have positively impacted over 1,000 schoolchildren in Polonnaruwa, contributing to their educational journey.

It is noteworthy that Union Assurance’s dedication to enriching community well-being through the HOPE initiative has been steadily ongoing.
