Kandy vs CR in title decider

This is billed to be a mouthwatering game where Kandy SC, the defending champions will be at Longdon Place to scrum down with table leaders CR and FC in the deciding game of the Nippon Paint rugby league tournament.

Kandy SC has had it all their way through-out the years but this time things have changed as CR and FC have kept their winning streak alive by displaying good rugby in all the games.

Kandy SC aims to win the title for a record 25th time.

The game will be refereed by Raveen Alexander.

Sevens in memory of Bertie Dias

A Sevens rugby tournament in memory of Col. Bertie Dias is likely to be conducted in Kandy once again.

Kandy SC organized a seven-a-side rugby tournament the year Col. Bertie Dias passed away.

Teams like HNB Kandy, Ceylon Tobacco Leaf Division, Central Finance, Kurunagla RFC, Hill Club, Chilaw RFC and Old Anthonians participated that year.

Bertie, as he was well known, was one of the finest players who made the rugby circle colourful and courageous, as a player, referee and coach.
