SLT-MOBITEL teams up with BaseKit Platform UK

Will launch web builder ‘CubKit’ to empower SMEs:

SLT-MOBITEL has entered into a strategic partnership with BaseKit Platform Limited, a UK-based company specialising in intuitive web development tools, to introduce a website development solution to empower Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Partnering with BaseKit to launch CubKit aligns with SLT-MOBITEL mission to digitally empower every Sri Lankan business, delivering innovative new services tailored for the Sri Lankan market. By providing SMEs with do-it-yourself web building capabilities, SLT-MOBITEL aims to make quality web development and e-commerce accessible and affordable, in addition to accelerating digital transformation and e-commerce adoption.

The SLT-MOBITEL’s MSME Product Development team has entered into an agreement with BaseKit Platform Limited to collaborate in introducing and distributing the product within the Sri Lankan market. MSMEs can now reap the benefits of an affordable, full-service website builder made accessible through SLT-MOBITEL’s distribution capabilities across Sri Lanka.

At the hybrid event recently, CEO, and Founder of BaseKit Platform Limited, Simon Best, attended virtually with Chief Executive Officer of SLT-MOBITEL Group Janaka Abeysinghe,, signing the agreement at the SLT-MOBITEL main Boardroom, in Sri Lanka. Business Development Executive at Basekit, Carl Kill, also joined virtually.

Senior officers from SLT, including Prabhath Dahanayake, Chief Marketing Officer, SLT-MOBITEL Group, Selvendiran Vidyapan, General Manager, Enterprise and SME Products, Ravin Tharinda, Deputy General Manager Micro and SME Product Development and Management, Chamila Dharmasena, Manager Marketing MSME Product Development, Madhuka Bandara, Engineer MSME Product Development, were present on the occasion.

The CubKit Web Builder, a rebranded version of the BaseKit web builder, will be available via hostingcub.com, offering attractive features such as a user-friendly interface, seamless integration with booking engines, the option for customers to integrate their own local payment gateways, an SEO optimisation tool, and unlimited hosting space with unlimited bandwidth.

SLT-MOBITEL’s new product, dubbed ‘CubKit’, enables intuitive drag-and-drop website creation without advanced IT skills and is designed to help businesses establish a dynamic web presence faster and easier, marking a significant milestone for SME businesses in Sri Lanka with an easy and no-code web builder solution.
