Francophonie brings together over 321 million French speakers from around the world. The International Francophonie Day is organised every year in March to celebrate the diversity of the French language and the French-speaking world.
The 2024 Festival will take place from March 21 to 23 at Alliance Française de Colombo (Barnes Place, Colombo 7) and will feature 7 films from 8 countries – global members of the Francophonie: Belgium, Canada, Egypt, France,Romania, Switzerland, Tunisia and Vietnam. All movies will be screened with English subtitles.
The movies will display the diversity and richness of Francophonie cultures: from drama to comedy, to documentary, short-movie and animated movie.
The 7 movies are The Tailor / Cô Ba Sài Gòn, Wild Romania / România Salbatica, Jules au pays d’Asha / The Adventures in the Land of Asha, Interdit aux chiens et aux Italiens / No Dogs or Italians Allowed, Sous les figues / Under the Fig Trees, Presque / Beautiful Minds, and Presque / Beautiful Minds.
