Two held with narcotics worth Rs 300 million

Two persons were arrested on Friday along with nearly 40 kilograms of hard narcotics in separate detections made in Biyagama and Navinna, the Police said yesterday.

According to police some 15 kilograms of ‘Ice’ (crystal methamphetamine), 14kg of Hash and 941g of heroin were seized from the suspect nabbed in Biyagama while eight kilograms of Heroin were recovered from the second suspect at Navinna.

The drugs had a street value of close to Rs. 300 million, according to the Police.

Both detections were made on information received by police from of the public.

The suspects were described as a 31-year-old from Bomiriya area in Kaduwela and a 45year-old from the Maharagama suburbs.
