Condolence program for Iranian President

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Iran organised a condolence program at the Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque premises on Wednesday, May 22 for the late Iranian President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi who died in a helicopter crash along with eight others.

The welcome address was delivered by Mohamed Uvais Mohamed on behalf of the mosque.

State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya and Ambassador of Iran, Dr. Alireza Delkhosh also spoke.

Chief Imam of the mosque Ash Sheik Al Hafil A.B.M. Rizwan conducted the prayers.

Members of Parliament A.H.M. Fowzie and Mujibur Rahuman, Cultural Counselor of the Iran Cultural Centre, Dr. Moazami Goodarzi, Defence Attaché Homayoun Aliyari, former Governor Azath Sally, Foreign Ministry officials, Board of Trustees of the Kollupitiya Mosque, representatives of Muslim organisations and media personnel were also present.

There was also a video presentation which showed the late Iranian President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi’s recent visit to the Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque.
