Foreign tourists top one million mark

The number of foreign tourists who arrived in Sri Lanka from January 1, 2024 up to yesterday, June 29 afternoon has topped one million.

Paul Roe and Patricia Roe, who came from Dublin, Ireland topped the one million mark.

They arrived at the Katunayake Airport yesterday afternoon at 12.40 p.m. on SriLankan Airlines flight UL-504 from the United Kingdom.

A ceremony was held at the Airport arrivals terminal to welcome them on a grand scale. Director, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Subhashini Perera, its Deputy Director Harindra Wijewardena and Katunayake Airport Tourism Board Information Centre Manager Wasana Kumari were also present.
