The Russian School of Music of the Russian House in Colombo proudly brought back its Annual Music Concert with a new theme and name, “Sounds of Summer” on the 13th of June.
The Russian School of Music is the oldest school at the Russian Centre (since its inception in 1973 at the Soviet Cultural Centre), the music school has come a long way under the guidance of a number of Music coordinators and island-known Instructors.
This time’s concert made a Historic move, where a new logo featuring the world-famous Russian Composer Tchaikovsky was revealed by the hands of Madam Maria Popova, The First Secretary of the Russian Embassy and Head of the Russian House in Colombo and Buddhapriya Ramanayake, Chief Executive Officer.
The Concert had over 40 participants, performing three instruments, the Piano, Violin and Guitar under the guidance of eight experienced teachers namely, Ms Kishani Amarasekara, Ms Lasni Vidyaratne, Ms Eshanthika Fernando, Ms Lilibeth Fernando, Ms Rozali Fernando, Ms Taniya De Zilva, Mahela Deshan and our most recent addition to the group of teachers, Ms Tharushi Amanda.
