The much looked forward to Bradby Shield rugby match between Trinity College and Royal College is set to take place on August 24 and September 7.
It will also mark the third match between the two schools this year after they met at yesterday’s Dialog Trophy inter school league match in Colombo.
Out of the 77 Bradby matches played between the two schools, Trinity College has won it 39 times and Royal 36 times with two games ending in draws.
The winner is decided on the aggregate scores in the two matches known as the first leg and second leg.
The Bradby Shield was first presented by former Royal College principal E.L. Bradby who proposed to play two matches annually. The idea was agreed upon by the then principal of Trinity College C.E. Simithriarachchy.
This year Royal College will host the first leg match.
