ComBank Chairman, MD meet CB Governors of B’desh and Maldives

ComBank’s Chairman and Managing Director/CEO with the Governor of the Central Bank of the Maldives.

The Chairman of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC Sharhan Muhseen and the Bank’s Managing Director/CEO Sanath Manatunge held discussions with the Governors of the Central Banks (CB) of Bangladesh and the Maldives on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Washington DC recently.

The discussions with Dr Ahsan H. Mansur, Governor of Bangladesh Bank and Mr Ahmed Munawar, Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) covered a range of topics of mutual interest, including Commercial Bank’s operations in Bangladesh and the Maldives, and the Bank’s commitment to those countries.

Commercial Bank entered Bangladesh in November 2003 with the acquisition of the Bangladesh operations of Credit Agricole Indosuez (CAI), its first ever acquisition of a banking operation.
