Cricket tournament at Hyde Park

The AROPEC Challenge Trophy 2024 cricket tournament will be held over six days at the Hyde Park, Colombo 2 with 48 teams in the fray.

There will be 24 teams from Slave Island that will play on December 13, 14 and 15 while the other 24 teams from the outer region will played on December 20, 21 and 22.

The winning team will be presented with Rs. 200,000 while the runners-up will get Rs. 100,000 as prize money according to the organisers. Trophies will also be presented to the Champions, Runners-up, man of the series, man of the final, best batsman, best bowler, best fielder and best wicket-keeper.

The main sponsor will be Global Sports Innovation with Orient Lanka and Prestige Lanka as the co-sponsors.

The tournament is organized by Anas a former member of the Colombo Municipal football team and his team-mates in Slave Island or Kompanna Vidiya in Sinhalese.

The draw will take place on December 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Nawaloka Hospital Auditorium.
