The Leo Club of SLIIT recently completed the second phase of their impactful initiative, “Manudam Mehewara,” focusing on the renovation of the play area at the Peter Weerasekara Children’s Home on 22nd of December 2024. This effort aimed to enhance community infrastructure by creating a safe and functional recreational space for children.

The project involved repairing the damaged gate through welding, restoring the wall net for improved safety, and rejuvenating the play area with cleaning and repainting. These enhancements transformed the space into a vibrant and secure environment where children can engage in recreational activities and develop holistically. Every swing, every slide, and every corner tells a story of resilience and renewal. This transformation wasn’t just about infrastructure—it was about creating a place where children could dream, play, and grow in an environment built with love and dedication. By prioritizing community welfare and infrastructure development, SLIIT Leos reaffirmed its commitment to meaningful service. “Manudam Mehewara” stands as a testament to their dedication to creating lasting benefits for society and fostering a brighter future for all.
