Nestled on the 27th floor of Colombo’s Lotus Tower, Blue Orbit is truly a gem that deserves a spotlight. As the only revolving restaurant in Sri Lanka, it offers a dining experience that pairs world-class cuisine with panoramic views of the city. Our visit was nothing short of delightful, highlighting the culinary artistry that the restaurant brings to the table.

Starting with the Chinese offerings, the Peking Duck Pancakes were a highlight. The duck was perfectly crispy, and wrapping it in the delicate pancakes with hoi sin sauce created a beautiful harmony of flavours. The Dim Sum Corner was also a treat, showcasing a variety of bite-sized delights that pleased the palate.
Moving on to Middle Eastern cuisine, the chicken shawarma deserves a mention. It was savoury and succulent, balanced perfectly with fresh vegetables and rich garlic sauce. The Cold Cuts Corner provided a sophisticated selection of cured meats that complemented the shawarma beautifully.
One of the standout features of Blue Orbit is the Make-your-own pasta and pizza station. Being appreciative of interactive dining, this was a delightful addition. The pasta was freshly made, allowing for a personalised culinary adventure, while the pizza had a crisp base topped with an array of fresh ingredients.
The Cheese and Cold Seafood Corners were a delightful indulgence. The selections were rich, and the seafood was vibrant, showcasing the freshness one would hope for in a dining experience. The Roast Carvery Items were equally impressive, featuring succulent meats that melted in the mouth.
For a taste of local flavours, the Paani Puri Corner was a crowd-pleaser. Each crispy shell bursting with spicy water was a refreshing way to engage with traditional Indian cuisine.
