On 22 April, in celebration of Earth Day, the Leo Club of SLIIT successfully conducted Trash to Treasure, an impactful awareness session at President’s College, Rajagiriya. The project aimed to educate school students on the importance of responsible electronic waste disposal and sustainable living practices, emphasising the environmental impact of careless e-waste handling.

With expert insights from N.S. Green Links Lanka (PVT) LTD, the session offered valuable knowledge on how to manage electronic waste responsibly, encouraging students to become eco-conscious citizens. Through interactive discussions and real-world examples, participants were empowered to rethink waste — not as garbage, but as a resource.

This initiative, falling under the theme of responsible consumption and waste management, showcased the SLIIT Leos’ dedication to a cleaner, greener planet. Trash to Treasure served as a steppingstone toward cultivating a generation that values sustainability and takes action to protect the Earth at a time.
