Hayleys Fentons Limited, a provider of complex engineering services will embark on a high-profile project for Shield Restraint Systems Limited by building a new manufacturing facility in the Wathupitiwala Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
Shield Restraint Systems specialises in designing and manufacturing safety solutions for a wide range of vehicles, including child seats, utility vehicles, commercial trucks, buses, and construction equipment. Producing over 20 million restraints annually, Shield is a global leader in occupant safety systems. Now, with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility set to be built in Sri Lanka, Shield will locally produce world-class safety systems.
U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie J. Chung, and the Chairman of Sri Lanka’s Board of Investment, Arjuna Herath, were present at the stone-laying event.
Hayleys Fentons is overseeing the architectural design and full civil construction and plumbing infrastructure of this ambitious project, encompassing everything from design and supply to installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of the state-of-the-art warehouse and production facility.
