The SAB Campus of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) successfully hosted the inaugural SAB Strikers 2025 Inter-University Badminton Tournament in April, bringing together badminton talent from top universities.
Organised for the first time by SAB Campus, the tournament underscored the campus’s strong commitment to promoting sportsmanship, healthy competition, and holistic student development beyond the classroom.
A total of 12 teams participated at the SAB Strikers 2025 Inter-University Badminton Tournament held on 27 April 2025 at the MBA Courts, Colombo 7. The participating teams included: APIIT, KDU, Open University of Sri Lanka, Mora Shuttlers, SLIIT City University, Saegis Campus, UniStem, and SAB Campus.
After an intense series of matches, Mora Shuttlers emerged as champions, while KDU Team A secured first runner-up and APIIT Team A clinched second runner-up. The tournament highlighted the competitive spirit and high skill level of the participating teams, which featured university players, including several former and current national players.
The event was graced by CA Sri Lanka President Heshana Kuruppu, who was also the Chief Guest, alongside Vice President Tishan Subasinghe, Chief Executive Officer Lakmali Priyangika, and Director of SAB Campus Senior Prof. AriyarathnaJayamaha.
The SAB Strikers 2025 tournament is set to become an important annual event in the inter-university sports calendar.
