country’s most extensive representation at an ATM to date:
As Aladdin would have it, widely and famously known in ‘Arabian Nights’ folk lore, our national pavilion at the 32nd Arabian Travel Market (ATM) held at the Dubai World Trade Centre this year, transformed itself to be the country’s magic lamp that shone at the event, themed ‘Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism Through Enhanced Connectivity,’ serving as a premier platform for fostering international tourism partnerships.
Attracting the key personnel on the world travel stage, the Sri Lanka’s pavilion was privileged to have H.H Sheik Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum Chairman & Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines and Group together with Alexi Gunasekera, Consul General of Sri Lanka in Dubai, and Sampath Nissanka, Managing Director of SLTPB to declare open the Sri Lanka pavilion, last week flanked by officials from the SLTPB, the Sri Lanka Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and the Consulate General in Dubai.

Recognizing the Middle East as a pivotal market, SLTPB has intensified its promotional efforts in the region.
A contingent of 70 Sri Lankan personnel from the travel and tourism industry representing at the ATM this year marked the country’s most extensive representation at an ATM to date.
Recognizing the Middle East as a pivotal market, SLTPB has intensified its promotional efforts in the region and ensured that the 2025 ATM pavilion showcased Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage, pristine beaches, stunning landscapes, and abundant wildlife, capturing the attention of international visitors and industry professionals alike.
A press conference organized by SLTPB at the ATM inviting over 70 media representatives gave a clear message that Sri Lanka is on a forward march to project itself to be a great destination for Middle Eastern travelers, thereby taking action on its strategic plans and initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity and visitor experiences from that region.
Sri Lanka Tourism’s strong campaign in Dubai to strengthen its presence in the Middle Eastern market and fostering sustainable growth through further enhanced international partnerships follows the successful B2B networking events that were conducted in Riyadh and Dammam facilitating collaborations between Sri Lankan tourism stakeholders and Saudi counterparts.

These initiatives align with Sri Lanka’s strategic focus on attracting high-end tourists, particularly from Middle Eastern countries, aiming to boost tourism revenue and foster sustainable growth.
