Another special occasion is just around the corner, it is a day that celebrates that wonderful lady in your life who loves you unconditionally – your mother. Mother’s Day is just a week away and have you made any specials plans to show your amma just how much she means to you?
We all know how special our mother is to us, for everything we go to her. If we are sick, or having a bad day at school or if we had a fight with a friend, the one person who can soothe our cares away with a smile, kiss and gentle touch is our beloved mother. It’s not easy to be a mother, she is indeed a superhero that not only takes cares of us and our brothers and sisters, but also keeps the house running with her careful planning.
Just remember one day without your mom, where everything seemed to be a mess and out of control! Think about the things your mom does every single day. She wakes you up, makes your lunch, helps with schoolwork, gives the best advice, and still has time to give a warm hug at the end of the day. Even when she’s tired, she listens. Even when things are tough, she keeps going.
When Mother’s Day comes around this year let’s do something extra special for her. You don’t have to give expensive gifts, what moms really treasure is what you give to her with love—thoughtfulness and time. Why not make her a homemade card with doodles and a love note? She’ll cherish it. Or pick some flowers from the garden and surprise her with her favourite breakfast in bed? She’ll be thrilled. Even just saying “I love you” with a big smile and worshipping her can lighten up her whole day.
And here’s a secret: Moms don’t expect us to be perfect. They just want us to try our best, be kind to others, and grow into good people. That’s their ultimate wish for us every day, so let’s strive to be good children and makes our mothers proud of us. Of course we don’t need one special day to show our mothers how much we love them, this should be done every day! But on Mother’s Day, let’s also take care of them the way they have always take care of us, show them that they mean the world to us.
So here’s our Mother’s Day mission, for our Chronicle readers:
*Say thank you—for the little and big things.
*Be helpful—without being asked!
*Make something from the heart—a poem, or a picture.
*Most of all, tell her how much she means to you.
Because being a mother isn’t always easy, but it is filled with love and when we show love in return, it makes everything worthwhile.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers out there! We see you, we love you, and we thank you.
With crayons, cookies, and big bear hugs.
See you next week!
