Indian tyre manufacturer CEAT Limited has announced the incorporation of a new step-down subsidiary in Sri Lanka, named CEAT OHT Ventures (Pvt) Limited.
The entity was registered on May 2, 2025.
According to regulatory filings, the subsidiary is a related party to CEAT through its wholly owned Sri Lankan arm, CEAT OHT Lanka (Pvt) Limited, which holds 49 percent equity in the new venture. The remaining shareholding is held by a local partner, in accordance with Sri Lankan regulatory norms.
The subsidiary will be engaged in the industrial development, construction, and leasing of commercial infrastructure including warehouses, primarily to support the manufacturing and storage of automotive tyres and related components. This development marks another step in CEAT’s strategy to strengthen its presence in international markets.
CEAT OHT Lanka is a wholly owned subsidiary of CEAT Limited, operating in the off-highway tyre (OHT) segment. The company focuses on manufacturing and supporting tyres used in agriculture, construction, and industrial applications. It plays a role in expanding CEAT’s international operations, particularly in specialised tyre markets.
CEAT has been active in Sri Lanka since 1992, beginning with a joint venture – Associated Motorways (AMW) and Kelani Tyres (Pvt) Ltd, resulting in the formation of CEAT Kelani International Tyres (Pvt) Ltd.
