The iconic beachfront bar, King of the Mambo at Galle Face Hotel, made a splashy comeback on April 24.

This legendary spot, inspired by Havana’s spirit, originally opened in 2018 and quickly became a favourite for its lively atmosphere, great cocktails, and stunning ocean views.

The relaunch kicked off with a fun soft opening followed by an exciting grand celebration, attracting a stylish crowd of guests, influencers, and loyal fans eager to relive the magic. The revamped bar blends Latin charm with coastal sophistication, featuring bold new decor, an upgraded drink and food menu, and live performances by local Cuban musicians.

Aleix Gracia of Infini Concepts shared that the goal was to honour the bar’s vibrant culture while refreshing the experience for a new generation. On the reopening night, guests enjoyed handcrafted cocktails on the terrace, danced to lively Latin beats, and soaked up the joyful atmosphere.

General Manager Rohan Fernandopulle highlighted the importance of rekindling unforgettable seaside nights, making it clear that the relaunch was about more than just reopening a venue.

With exciting plans for themed nights and creative events ahead, King of the Mambo is set to become Colombo’s hotspot for fun nights and cherished memories again.
