Gayan Hemarathne

A solo exhibition titled “Magga — A Journey of Wisdom” by contemporary artist Gayan Hemarathne at Curado Art Space, Park Road, Colombo 5 is open to the public until May 9.

“Magga,” which means “path” in Pali, draws inspiration from Buddhist philosophy, particularly the Noble Eightfold Path. This exhibition invites you on a reflective journey through twelve original artworks that explore themes of spiritual growth, ethical living, and mindfulness, each piece rich with symbolic meaning and visual finesse.

Gayan, who has a background in engineering and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Archaeology, brings a unique perspective to his art. His fascination with the past adds depth and cultural significance to his work, blending analytical thought with philosophical inquiry.

The artworks feature geometric harmony, archaeological elements, and spiritual symbolism, creating a visual language that resonates with quiet intensity. Each composition encourages viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with the profound messages behind the art.
