Following the surge in military tensions between India and Pakistan there has been an increase in activity in the Colombo Port, said Deputy Minister of Ports Ruwan Kodithuwakku.

He said as a result of the heightened port activity stemming from the escalation of the regional issue, measures have been taken to manage the rise in port traffic with maximum efficiency.

The suspension of maritime routes between India and Pakistan due to the intense security alerts in the region has affected vessel operating to and from India and from Pakistan.
