In celebration of International Women’s Day, Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women in the automotive industry recently through its flagship gender equity initiative, Caltex Abhimani.
Chevron hosted a dedicated knowledge-sharing session for female-owned and operated Caltex authorised dealerships and Caltex Xpress Lube service stations across Sri Lanka. The session provided participants with an understanding of motor mechanism — strengthening their technical acumen and ability to engage more confidently with customers in a traditionally male-dominated field.
Recognising the vital role of these pioneering women — who represent nearly 15 percent of Chevron’s exclusive dealer network — Chevron also gifted each participant a one-year health insurance package from a leading insurance service provider.
Managing Director and CEO of Chevron Lubricants, Bertram Paul said, “We are pleased to felicitate the pioneering women in our exclusive dealer network who are breaking barriers in operating in what has traditionally been a male dominated sector. By investing in their knowledge, health, and well-being, we are celebrating their achievements and accelerating action for a more inclusive and resilient industry.”
Head of Human Resources at Chevron Lubricants, Maheshni Hamangoda said, “Through Caltex Abhimani, we are proud to cultivate an environment where women entrepreneurs thrive, lead and inspire the next generation.”
