Salt stocks to arrive soon

Adequate stocks of salt to meet the needs of the country have already been ordered and the consignment will arrive in the country shortly, said Trade Ministry sources, adding that it will address the scarcity of salt in the country.

The country ran short of salt following unconducive weather for production and delays in importing to meet the shortfall.

“We have already placed orders and the stocks will arrive soon,” said the trade ministry official. Salt plays a pivotal part in food flavour enhancement and preservation.
