Roboxa and Exiga to set up global competency centre in Sri Lanka

Roboxa Services (Pte) Ltd, a SAP and AI consulting company headquartered in Singapore, in collaboration with its strategic partner Exiga plans to set up a Global Competency Centre (GCC) in Sri Lanka.

This initiative marks a significant investment towards creating over 1,000 high-skilled employment opportunities for Sri Lankan professionals over the next 18 to 24 months.

The newly launched centre will initially focus on SAP and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, with a roadmap to expand into broader technology domains including cloud, data analytics, and enterprise applications.

Roboxa and Exiga are also committed to working closely with the Government to support national digital transformation goals through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models — fostering innovation, building capabilities, and strengthening the local technology ecosystem.

“Sri Lanka’s rich talent pool, strong education system, and strategic location make it an ideal choice for our global delivery operations,” said Founder and CEO of Roboxa, Sudhakara Varma Yarramraju.

He said the company is not merely investing in infrastructure, but in people and long-term partnerships that will uplift the digital economy of Sri Lanka.

Officials of the partnering entities said the investment highlights Sri Lanka’s growing potential as a regional hub for global technology services.

Roboxa plans to collaborate with local universities and training institutes to develop SAP and AI capabilities aligned with international standards.

The centre will play a key role in delivering high-value digital services across the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and European markets.

Global Competency Centres also known as Global Capability Centres or Global In-House Centres, are offshore hubs set up by multinational corporations to perform various strategic functions. Such centres will strengthen Sri Lanka’s talent pool to reach the global market for offshore operations said an IT/BPO expert.

He said GCCs are not merely cost-saving measures; they play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the parent company and often serve as hubs for innovation and technology leadership.

“These centres leverage global talent, cost efficiencies, and operational advantages to support the parent company’s operations,” he said.
