This year for ‘Love Your Pet Day,’ AIA Sri Lanka, collaborated with Tails of Freedom, Purrs and Woofs and Animal Welfare and Protection Association (AWPA), to launch the ‘Pawfect Match’ campaign. This campaign celebrated the bond between humans and their furry companions while championing the cause of animal welfare in Sri Lanka.

The campaign invited pet lovers across Colombo and its suburbs to celebrate their pets and support the movement to find loving homes for rescued animals. At the heart of the initiative was the effort to promote adoption, emphasising the importance of giving a home to animals in need.

AIA Sri Lanka’s partnership with these non-profit organisations brought forward heartwarming stories of rescued animals shared across digital platforms, touching the hearts of thousands and encouraging many to take action. The campaign received an overwhelming response from the public, generating over 500 heartwarming responses from individuals keen to adopt stray animals and give them a second chance at life.

Stray animals remain a significant concern in Sri Lanka, with thousands of dogs and cats living without shelter, food, or medical care. By partnering with trusted animal welfare organisations and leveraging the power of social media, AIA Sri Lanka is working to change that narrative.

The ‘Pawfect Match’ campaign served as a reminder that even small acts of kindness—like adopting a stray—can make a big impact. It also provided an opportunity for the public to learn more about responsible pet ownership, animal rights, and the importance of compassion toward all creatures.

AIA Sri Lanka extends heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, and partners who made this campaign a success.
