The year began with the Leo Shradda, which was focused on seeking blessings and strong spiritual and ethical foundation for the year ahead from all the main religions of Sri Lanka. Following this, District Workshops were held for all council officers and Leo club officials over two days which aimed to educate participants about the overall functioning of the Leo movement while ensuring that every member was well-equipped to lead and serve effectively.
The Annual District Installation 2024 was held grandly, appointing the visionary leaders who serve as the driving force behind the entire district. This significant event marked the formal beginning of their leadership journey, reinforcing their commitment to serving the community and guiding the district towards greater success. The Radiance Retreat, annual gathering was held to connect, rejuvenate, strengthen the bonds between Leos, and created lasting memories together within the Leo District 306C1.
The Battle of C’s Cricket Tournament 2024, a thrilling showdown between District 306C1 and 306C2, was more than just a game. It was a celebration of unity and sportsmanship. In a groundbreaking move this year, girls too stepped onto the field, marking a historic moment in the tournament’s history. Event was sponsored by renowned sports brands and companies, and the tournament was a grand success. After three years, Leo District 306C1 reclaimed the trophy, proving to be a true testament to dedication, teamwork, and an unstoppable spirit.
The District agenda has stepped into a vision of a more beautiful country where every street shines clean. To turn this dream into reality, the district took bold steps through the Lassana Sri Lanka movement, a journey to reclaim the beauty of our nation.
With passionate volunteers and widespread community involvement, this initiative focused on cleaning public spaces, promoting environmental awareness, and instilling a sense of responsibility among citizens. The movement was not just about cleaning, it was about inspiring a mindset shift towards sustainability and national pride.
Leo District 306C1 also made a remarkable impact by participating in Leo Stride under the team name Blue Army, a dynamic Annual walk and run event. The main theme embraced by C1 Leos was the Power of Unity, where the district launched a compelling social media campaign showcasing unity through historical movements. The district’s dedication and enthusiasm shined brightly as District 306C1 secured four prestigious titles:

The Action Brigade – Leadership Program was another significant initiative where C1 Leos engaged in team-building activities, leadership development sessions, and created lifelongand unforgettable memories. This three-day program took place at the Trincomalee Navy Base Camp, providing a unique and challenging environment to foster growth and camaraderie among Leos. The program culminated in recognizing exceptional participants, with Leo Dulanja Gunasekara being awarded Best Camper Male, Leo Kaveesha Dahanayake receiving Best Camper Female, and Team Agni emerging as the Overall Winner.
The Annual Midyear Review and Noble Evening was held successfully, serving as a memorable night to honour the exemplary leadership of the Past District Presidents. The event was made possible through the generous support of many sponsors. Every effort, contribution, and dedication over the first six months of the Leo calendar culminated in a night that will be remembered for its significance and the remarkable individuals it celebrated.

With the overwhelming success of the first phase, Session 2 of the Start-Up Studio is currently ongoing, further empowering individuals to embrace creativity, resilience, and the entrepreneurial mindset. Another key initiative initiated by Leo District 306 C1 is C1 FM, which gives Leos an opportunity to showcase their talent in announcing and many other areas. C1 FM broadcasts through 107.3 and 107.5 within the Western province, and a few celebrity individuals also joined. As the Leo District 306C1 moves forward with many ongoing projects, it remains committed to its mission of selfless service, leadership excellence, and community impact.
