The 2025 President’s Cup Carrom Championship held at the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka Headquarters in Torrington, Colombo, came to an exciting close with outstanding performances from some of the nation’s best.
Rising to the top were Anas Ahamed and Tashmila Kavindi, who captured the Men’s and Women’s Singles titles with poise, precision, and determination.
In a high-intensity Men’s Singles final, Anas Ahamed defeated the current national champion Shaheed Hilmy in a gripping contest. Suraj Madhuwantha secured third place while Avon Wickramasinghe took fourth.
Also finishing among the top eight were Dammika Rohan (fifth), Abishek Jayawardana (sixth), Prameda Mendis (seventh) and Charith Madusanka (eighth).
The Women’s Singles final saw Tashmila Kavindi overcome Nipuni Dilrukshi in a confident and calculated performance.
Joseph Roshita finished third with Tharushi Himahansika placing fourth.
Completing the top eight were Hirushi Malshani (fifth), Nuwanthika Sanjeewani (sixth), Detuni Nomaya (seventh) and Savindi De Silva (eighth).
Anas Ahamed’s campaign was made even more memorable with a second title in the Men’s Doubles event where he partnered with Manuka Ashen. The duo combined tactical brilliance and chemistry to defeat Shaheed Hilmy and Udesh Perera in the final. Hasitha Anurudda and Avon Wickramasinghe clinched third place.
In the Women’s Doubles, the strong partnership of Joseph Roshita and Tharushi Himahansika emerged victorious, outclassing the duo of Shaini Imaya and Deshani Kaushalya in the final match.
Manuraji Nisansala and Nuwanthika Sanjeewani finished in third place.
