The third Battle of Ruhunu Maroons annual Inter-Schools cricket encounter between Debarawewa National School and Rajapaksha Central College Weeraketiya ended in a draw at Mandaduwa Grounds in Weeraketiya yesterday.

Rajapaksha Central College Weeraketiya won the toss and elected to field first. Debarawewa National School scored 254 runs for eight wickets and declared in 68.5 overs.

Mirash Rayan (68), Sandeepa Muthukumarana (63), Chamika Sathsara (59) and Rasindu Nikeshana (30) helped build their innings.

Sandeepa Muthukumarana (63) and Chamika Sathsara (59) added 97 runs for the third wicket while Mirash Rayan (68) and Ushan Vimukthi (16) put on 87 runs for the seventh wicket.

Lakindu Jayasinghe claimed four wickets for 77 runs and Bhanuka Bhawantha claimed two wickets for 39 runs.

Rajapaksha Central College scored nine runs for no loss when the match was called off due to heavy rain.
